My no. 1 tip to Reduce Grocery Bills (without compromising health)...

is REDUCING in HOME WASTE

Australian households spend $2-$2.5k per year in food that is wasted in the home!

STOP Spending your precious money on food only to throw it away.

Is it fresh produce? Meals you have made?

4 KEYS TO MEAL PLANNING

  • DO NOT DO THE WHOLE WEEK UPFRONT

Its overwhelming, inflexible, and only causes more food waste in my opinion.

Sit down on the weekend to plan meals from Saturday- Tuesday. And then Plan again on Wednesday- Saturday.

  • DO PLAN FLEXIBLE OPTINS FOR ALL MEALS (not just dinner)

While Most Meal planners only include Dinner- Meal planning FLEXIBLE options for all other meals is an absolute Must. Having written options for all meals means you are likely to hit your Health & Weigh Goals, while reducing decision fatigue. And what’s more it means you will actually HAVE the ingredients Available (meaning less trips to the grocery store = less money spent)

  • HAVE A SINGLE REVOLVING SHOPPING LIST

Writing down items that are running out as you go, and sticking to it in the grocery store means you will shop only for the things you NEED.

It also reduces “energy leaks” you know, those small tasks that take up brain power (that don’t need to!)

- HAVE DESIGNATED GROCERY SHOP DAYS

Plan in times (I suggest 2 only) to grocery shop each week. From you meal plan, and shopping list only buy what you need.

(MEAL PREP is different, meal prep can be anything that makes things run smoother & optimises your time- ie, bulk washing fresh produce, part/ full making meals ahead of time)
